Allergan to Meet Shareholders: Executives of Allergan Inc. will be telling shareholders Tuesday at their annual meeting about the company’s progress last year, but they’ll also be discussing the recent voluntary, worldwide recall of 400,000 bottles of contact lens solution. The recall caused the company to take a $4 million charge against its first-quarter earnings this year. The company, which makes eye-care and skin-care products, has said it fixed the problem. The company has recovered all the bottles domestically, but continues to reclaim them overseas. The charge dropped first-quarter earnings to $21.7 million, or 34 cents a share--about 4 cents a share below analysts’ estimates and a penny shy of last year’s first quarter. The meeting is at 10 a.m. at Allergan’s headquarters, 2525 DuPont Drive, Irvine.
