Chronicle Publishing Sued by Former Chairman: Nan Tucker McEvoy, 75, ousted last week from her longtime position as chairman of Chronicle Publishing Co., filed suit to restore herself to the San Francisco-based media company’s board. In the complaint, filed in Superior Court there, McEvoy alleged that certain shareholders discriminated against her because of her age and denied her the right to vote her shares. McEvoy, who owns 26.3% of the company, was disqualified from board membership when a special shareholders meeting passed new bylaws barring directors over age 73. Privately held Chronicle Publishing owns the San Francisco Chronicle, three TV stations and several cable TV systems.
