OJAI : Shelley Chosen for Mayoral Post

Ojai City Councilwoman Nina Shelley has been picked to serve as the city’s mayor, her third stint in the position.
Council members voted Shelley to the one-year term this week. First elected to the council in 1982, Shelley previously served as mayor in 1985 and 1990.
The panel also chose Councilman James Loebl as mayor pro tem. The mayoral position rotates among council members, each of whom serve a year.
Mayor is primarily a figurehead position in Ojai. The mayor does not have more voting power than other council members.
