Three more former Cal State Northridge baseball players have signed to play professionally for the Regina (Sask.) Cyclones.
Outfielder Josh Smaler and pitchers John Najar and Marco Contreras signed after participating in a tryout camp last week. The three are scheduled to report to the Canadian team this weekend.
Two former Northridge players, Joey Arnold and Greg Shepard, signed with Regina earlier this spring.
Smaler and Najar completed their eligibility this season. Arnold and Contreras last played for Northridge in 1994, while Shepard completed his eligibility in 1993.
Regina plays in the newly formed Prairie League, an independent alignment that features eight teams spanning three northern states and two Canadian provinces.
Regina’s manager is Jason Felice, who played at El Camino Real and Reseda highs.
