Ventura-Based Winery Is Awarded Gold Medal

Leeward Winery, based in Ventura, was awarded a gold medal at the San Diego National Wine Competition.
The independent winery was honored for its 1993 Napa Valley Merlot.
Founded in 1979, Leeward is part of a growing tradition of winemaking in Ventura County.
The winery on Johnson Drive is open daily for tasting and tours.
