Before becoming a TV star in the ‘50s, Shore was a major hit-maker in the second half of the ‘40s, with standards like “Anniversary Song” and “(I Love You) For Sentimental Reasons.” But most of her famous singles, included in this collection, were bland romantic ballads--flattened by a voice that was too sweet and fragile.
