Jailing Homeless
* Use a sleeping bag or blanket on Santa Ana public property and go to jail (“Santa Ana to Pursue Cases Against Homeless Encampments,” June 9). If taxpayers’ money is available to prosecute homeless people and house them in jails, why not use these same funds on housing and social services to help these people get back on their feet? Remember that Joseph and Mary, if they had not found shelter in a manger, would have been out on the street. Would Santa Ana have prosecuted them?
