PLACENTIA : Request to Establish Tearoom on Agenda
- Share via
The Planning Commission tonight will consider an applicant’s request to open a tearoom and hold wedding receptions at a vintage two-story house.
Some residents have voiced concerns that opening the business would disrupt the neighborhood. The house, built in 1906, is at Valencia and Lawn avenues.
Applicant Charli Carsey of Anaheim Hills said that she would schedule only one wedding reception a week and that events would not run later than 9:30 p.m. “I respect the neighbors’ concerns,” she said. “There won’t be any problems with the noise.”
Carsey said she plans to buy the house if the Planning Commission approves the use permit. Her business would serve luncheons on Tuesdays through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The commission meets at 7:30 p.m. in City Council chambers at 401 E. Chapman Ave.
