Jacobs Engineering Gets Second-Phase Port Contract: The Pasadena-based engineering firm said the contract awarded by LAXT Corp. is to provide detailed design and engineering of a $132-million, 20 million-ton-per-year dry bulk terminal at Pier 300 in the Port of Los Angeles. LAXT Corp. is a new conglomerate assembled for the purpose of installing and operating the Los Angeles Export Terminal, or LAXT. The facility will provide for expansion of the facility to an annual throughput of 20 million tons and a storage capacity of 2 million tons.
