Anaheim Is Third in Volleyball Event

Magnum 18 Blue of Anaheim finished third at the Junior Olympic girls’ volleyball championships Tuesday in Orlando, Fla.

Magnum lost to Team Mizuno of San Jose, 15-5, 11-15, 15-8, 15-3, in one semifinal. Mizuno went on to beat Sports Performance of West Chicago, 15-9, 15-11, 15-9, for the tournament championship.

Melissa Wendt (Huntington Beach High) of Magnum and Misty May (Newport Harbor) of Nike Long Beach were selected first-team All-Americans.
