Teledyne Inc. said its second-quarter earnings nearly tripled from last year on an 18% increase in sales, largely due to strong demand and improved profit margins for specialty metals, electronics and aviation products.
The Century City-based company reported increased sales in its aviation and electronics division, as well as its specialty metals and industrial segments.
But the results in its consumer segment were reduced by planned start-up costs for the SenSonic Plaque Removal Instrument, the Pour-Thru Water Filter device, and the MAXX-PURE ozone sanitizing system for swimming pools.
