A 31-year-old Tarzana man was killed when his motorcycle hit a car turning onto Tampa Avenue, Los Angeles police said Sunday.
Ray Bushwalter was riding north on Tampa just below Saticoy Street about 7:35 p.m. Saturday, Officer Norman Nagengast said. His motorcycle struck an automobile driven by Jewel Lawrence, 73, of Reseda, who was making an illegal left turn onto Tampa from Saticoy, Nagengast said.
Bushwalter was pronounced dead 30 minutes later at Northridge Hospital Medical Center, Nagengast said. Lawrence was not seriously injured, nor was he held by police. The investigation into the crash is continuing, Nagengast said.
