Datum Reports 58% Drop in Net Income for 2nd Quarter

Datum Inc., an Anaheim manufacturer of precision frequency products and timing instrumentation, reported net income of $145,000, or 3 cents a share, for the second quarter, 58% lower than the $343,000, or 13 cents a share, for the second quarter last year. Quarterly revenue more than doubled to $16.9 million from $7.8 million. The company said the increase largely reflects an acquisition made in March. For the six-month period, profit fell 32% to $385,000, or 11 cents a share, from $568,000, or 22 cents a share. Revenue for the period rose 75% to $26.7 million from $15.3 million.
