Packard Bell Electronics Moves to Sacramento

Packard Bell Electronics, a personal computer maker formerly based in Westlake Village, has officially moved its headquarters to Sacramento, said Christina Kennedy, a spokeswoman for the company.
Although a small number of employees remain in Westlake Village, the manufacturing operations and executive offices have moved. “As of now, we are calling them a Sacramento-based company,” Kennedy said.
Packard Bell also reported that it has obtained a new $350-million revolving line of credit that was arranged for the company by BankAmerica Business Credit, which served as agent and lead lender for the transaction.
The credit will “provide capital to fund continued growth and allow the company to refinance existing bank debt,” the company said in a press release. Packard Bell, founded in 1987, became the top-selling supplier of personal computers in the United States in 1994, and was the fourth-largest PC manufacturer in the world.
