San Gabriel Valley : THAT’S HOLLYWOOD

Oh, sure, they say it’s Napa Valley, but the romantic movie, “A Walk in the Clouds,” which opens today at theaters nationwide, actually features Pasadena’s beaux-arts City Hall and courtyard.
Filming for the movie, which stars Keanu Reeves and Anthony Quinn, took over City Hall last September for a week.
“Anthony Quinn rode through the rotunda on a white horse,” said Ariel Penn, Pasadena’s film liaison.
That’s hard to top. But the Reeves-Quinn picture is not Pasadena’s only foray onto the big screen this week. Also opening today is Michelle Pfeiffer’s feel-good movie, “Dangerous Minds,” the story of an inspirational teacher in an urban classroom, filmed at Washington Middle School on Marengo Ave.
