FULLERTON : City to Weigh Plan to Keep Ice House Open
- Share via
Rather than revoke or renew the entertainment permit of the troubled Ice House banquet hall, the City Council tonight will consider allowing the facility to stay open for six months on the condition that its owner find someone to operate it.
The council earlier this year considered revoking the operating permit of the hall, a popular neighborhood location for weddings and birthday and anniversary parties, after several violent incidents occurred there, including gang-related shootings.
Council members delayed action after Police Chief Patrick McKinley said that he and owner George Bushala were devising strict new rules and conditions for the hall’s operation.
Bushala would rent out the facility during the six-month period while he seeks an operator, city officials said.
