County Issues Fewer New Housing Permits

A total of 1,059 building permits for new housing units were issued in Ventura County during the first half of the year, down from 1,218 in the same period a year ago, according to the Construction Industry Research Board.
Permits for single-family homes through June 30 totaled 943, up from 851 a year ago. But permits for multifamily units declined to 116 from last year’s 367.
