Putting the Music First
I wanted to respond to the very unfair and harsh letters slamming your music reviewer Timothy Mangan. I think I speak for the majority in saying that for the past year I have really enjoyed Mangan’s depth of knowledge and musical insight. As a performer myself, I have particularly appreciated his sensitivity to players making the best of uninspired material or bad acoustics. He has shown an unerring ability to finger the correct suspects. What I have most enjoyed, though, is his refreshing lack of ego and willingness to put the music first.
