OUTLOOK
Orange Lutheran took a quantum leap forward in only its second season under Kunau’s guidance. The Lancers, 5-5 in Kunau’s rookie season, raced through the Southern Section Division X playoffs before running into a wall in the section title game. Van Nuys Montclair Prep routed Orange Lutheran, 53-13, to take the championship, but the setback didn’t overshadow a season of accomplishments. Enough talent remains for a second consecutive Olympic League championship, but Kunau is wary. “Well,” he said, “I’m cautiously optimistic.” Holloway, a first-team all-league last season, might be the league’s dominant offensive player. He is strong and possesses breakaway speed.
