Mozart Camerata Sets a Five-Program Season

The Mozart Camerata has announced its 1995-96 season, five concerts to be directed by founder Ami Porat:
* Oct. 21, 22: Overture to Rossini’s “La Scala di Seta”; Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5, with soloist Misha Lefkowitz, and Haydn’s Symphony No 102.
* Nov. 4, 5: Schubert’s “Quartettsatz” (orchestrated by Porat); Mozart’s Symphony No. 29; Handel’s Organ Concerto, Opus 4, No. 5, and Haydn’s Organ Concerto No. 5, both with Frederick Swann.
* Jan 6, 7: Mozart program including the Overture to “The Impresario”; Symphony No. 35 (“Haffner”); Piano Concerto No. 14, and Violin Concerto No. 2, both with Corey Cerovsek. * March 16, 17: Michael Haydn’s Symphony No. 17; Mozart’s Flute Concerto No. 2, with Patty Cloud; J. C. Bach’s Sinfonia, Opus 3, No. 4, and Mozart’s Symphony No. 33.
* April 27, 28: Mendelssohn program including the “The Hebrides” Overture; Piano Concerto No. 2, with Robert Thies, and Symphony No. 4 (“Italian”).
The Saturday programs will take place at Concordia University, 1530 Concordia, Irvine, starting at 8 p.m.; the Sunday programs will be at 4 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 600 St. Andrews, Newport Beach. Season tickets: $69 to $99. Single tickets: $15 to $29. (714) 250-3131.
