WEEKEND TV : Syndicated Shows ‘Customs,’ ‘Stand’ Bow

Two of the fall season’s syndicated shows premiere today: “U.S. Customs: Classified,” about the U.S. Customs Service, is hosted by writer-producer Stephen J. Cannell, at 6 p.m. on KCAL-TV Channel 9, and the satirical “Night Stand With Dick Dietrick,” a spoof on talk shows, at 11 p.m. on KCOP-TV Channel 13.

On Sunday, three made-for-TV movies offer murder and mayhem, fact-based fare and a sweeping full-scale romance:

* Patrick Dempsey stars in Showtime’s “Bloodknot,” which revolves around a mystery woman who lies to a mourning mother, at 8 p.m.

* A young woman (“Beverly Hills, 90210’s” Tiffani-Amber Thiessen) finds out her husband (Eric Close) is guilty of rape in ABC’s “The Stranger Beside Me,” with Gerald McRaney, 9 p.m. on Channels 7, 3 and 42.

* Melissa Gilbert and Bruce Boxleitner star in “Zoya,” a two-part drama based on the Danielle Steel novel, at 9 p.m on NBC. Part 2 airs Monday at the same time on Channels 4 and 36.

Several of the public affairs shows will focus on Colin Powell, welfare reform and Medicare.
