People Infringe on Coyote Territory

* Perhaps we have it backward--perhaps the families are too close to where the coyotes are living.
Let’s also get some Southern California terminology straight: “Natural brushland” is coastal sage scrub; we don’t call coyotes “wild dogs,” and native plants are not called “shrubbery.”
The coyotes have a job to do. They keep the skunk, raccoon, rabbit and other critters under control. And as long as their corridors are not slammed shut by the toll roads, they keep the endangered-bird-eating, non-native red fox out of the wetlands.
