United Way will host its annual Day of Caring on Saturday as volunteers throughout the county help agencies with labor-intensive activities such as gardening, graffiti removal and trail cleanups.
The event begins a $5.5-million fund-raising campaign by United Way of Ventura County. Celebrations will take place from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at Oxnard’s Food Share, 4156 N. South Bank Road, and Cal Lutheran University, 60 Olsen Road.
Volunteers will receive a free breakfast and T-shirt and will be working at nonprofit agencies and municipalities across the county.
For more information on the event, and to find out where volunteers can work, call United Way at 485-6288.
