Cal State Northridge police are investigating a fight at a campus dance that ended with seven shots being fired from a student parking lot last weekend, campus officials said.
The fight took place inside the University Student Union during a dance held by the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, Lt. Mark Hissong said. When the two fighters went outside at about 1:10 a.m. Saturday, one pulled a gun and fired toward the other as he fled, Hissong said.
Two bullets struck a parked car, and one ricocheted inside a building, Hissong said. It is unknown whether the two fighters are students, or whether anyone was injured by the shooting, he said.
Seven university police officers were on duty at the dance, which was open to students and their guests, Hissong said. Students entering the dance had to pass through a metal detector.
