HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL ROUNDUP : Kilpatrick Finishes Two Yards Short of Village Christian, 6-0

Matt Pike threw a one-yard touchdown pass to Tim Gustafson in the second quarter and it gave Village Christian High a 6-0 victory over Kilpatrick in an Alpha League opener Saturday night at Kennedy High.
Following Jonathan Weber’s interception return of 43 yards in the fourth quarter, Kilpatrick was driving for a potential winning score.
But on third down, Koron Allen fumbled the ball away at the Village Christian two-yard line with 5 minutes 15 seconds left.
Village Christian (4-2) killed the clock, driving 93 yards.
The Mustangs (2-4) drove into Crusader territory seven times, only to come away empty-handed each time. Kilpatrick totaled 148 yards in penalties and lost three fumbles.
Larry Ford rushed for 124 yards in 21 carries and Allen had 83 yards in 11 carries as Kilpatrick outgained Village Christian, 279-183.
