Riordan’s View on Jobs Shows Contradictions
- Share via
When I read “Riordan Blasts First Interstate Takeover Offer” (Oct. 20), I had to wonder whose “ox is being gored.”
The mayor’s supposed concern about loss of jobs just doesn’t hold water when you consider that he would like to privatize the jobs of half the city employees (or all if he could figure out a way), with no thought whatsoever for the employees who would suddenly swell the ranks of the unemployed or who would be forced to take jobs with no benefits, as is now the trend.
What makes those private-sector jobs more important than the jobs in the public sector? Or who?
Sorry Mayor, but you can’t have it both ways.
