Singers from Orange County took three top honors at the Metropolitan Opera National Council Western Regional Auditions Saturday at USC. Soprano Jessica Seina, 28, of Irvine, and soprano Sewell Griffith, 29, of Aliso Viejo, shared first place with soprano Sari Gruber, 24, of La Crescenta. It was the first time in the history of the Western Regionals that first place was split among three singers. Each received $3,800 and will travel to New York in March to compete in the national finals. Meanwhile, soprano Megan Weston, 30, of Tustin, won the third place regional award, $1,400. The singers were competing in a field of 11 contestants.
