LA CANADA-FLINTRIDGE — A man was killed Tuesday when his car swerved across Angeles Crest Highway and plunged 625 feet down the side of a canyon, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said.
The man, who remained unidentified late Tuesday, was driving rapidly south on the highway about two miles north of the Foothill Freeway about 2 p.m. when he crossed to the northbound side of the road and skidded off the edge, deputy Roger Wallace said.
The man was hurled from his car and died at the scene, Wallace said. It was not clear why the car crossed the highway, he said.
