GLENDALE — Two Bank of America branches within four miles of each other were robbed Monday, apparently by different bandits, and both times the thieves escaped, Glendale police said.
Three men burst into the branch in the 6400 block of San Fernando Road at 10:24 a.m., vaulted over the counter and grabbed money from the tellers, Sgt. Robert Macleod said. The robbers fled in a car, which they crashed into a high curb outside the bank, then dashed off on foot, leaving behind much of their money, he said.
About 2 p.m., one man entered the branch in the 300 block of Brand Boulevard, strode to the teller and demanded money, Macleod said. He made off with an undisclosed amount.
