Historic Danish Amusement Park Shows First Deficit: Tivoli showed a deficit of $3.4 million for the 1995 fiscal year, park officials said. The negative outcome was blamed on an increase in renovation costs and salaries, which rose by $5.1 million to $44.8 million. A spokesman for the 152-year-old park in Copenhagen said it was forced to fire 30 of its 180 full-time employees. During this year’s season, from late April to mid-September, 3.5 million people visited the park, officials said.
