A suspected robber who broke into a motel room in Long Beach while waving a gun was shot to death Friday by one of his intended victims, police said.
William Boykins, 29, climbed through a window at the Chief Motel in the Bixby Hills area about 12:30 a.m. and waved a gun while demanding money from a couple, detectives said. They said a man with a shotgun who was staying in the room shot the intruder, who crashed back through the window and died in the street, Long Beach Police Officer Kevin King said.
