Remarkable Playoff Run Continues : Volleyball: Cal Lutheran women rally to move into Division III title match.

WHITEWATER, Wis. — Cal Lutheran rallied from a two-game deficit to stage a stirring comeback and defeat Wisconsin-Whitewater 10-15, 6-15, 15-7, 15-11, 15-13 in an NCAA Division III women’s volleyball semifinal.
For Cal Lutheran (27-2), it’s been an amazing road show that has carried the Regals all the way to the championship match.
Cal Lutheran advanced to the final four after pulling off road victories against San Diego and John Carroll University.
Cal Lutheran will face Washington University of St. Louis in the final here today.
The Bears (41-3) have won the Division III title four consecutive seasons and five of the last six.
The task of defeating Whitewater (35-3) was one of Cal Lutheran’s toughest assignments this season.
Third-year Coach James Park was at a loss to explain his team’s slow start.
“Basically, I told them that they weren’t playing. I didn’t know that they would agree with me, but they did.
“I suppose it might have to do with the nerves of playing in a final four.”
Tracy Little had 17 kills for Cal Lutheran, which overcame a hostile crowd at Whitewater’s tiny gym.
Cal Lutheran received some clutch play from its outside hitters. Darcy White had nine kills and 19 digs while Jennifer Pappas added 10 kills and 13 digs.
