SIMI VALLEY : Conservatory Offers Holiday Programs

The Simi Arts Conservatory will present a series of holiday productions this weekend.
The conservatory’s ensemble will perform a dramatized version of “The Nutcracker,” featuring a cast ranging in age from 8 to 15. The performances are scheduled for Friday at 6:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 and 6 p.m. and Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Court Theatre in Simi Valley. Tickets are $2.
“The Nutcracker” will also be performed at the new Cultural Arts Center, 3050 Los Angeles Ave., Monday and Thursday of next week at 6 p.m. Tickets are $3.
Conservatory students will present two folk tales told in song and dance. The Russian folk tale “Stone Soup” and the African folk tale “The Man Who Loved to Laugh” will be performed at the Court Theatre at 1 and 5 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $1.
The workshop will perform the folk tales at the Cultural Arts Center on Monday at 6 p.m. Tickets are $3 and include a performance of “The Nutcracker.”
The plays are directed by Irene Silbert and choreographed by Karen Ospina, with music arranged by Philippe Fanjeaud. For tickets, call 526-4132.
