WOMEN’S BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Hughes Leads UCLA to Easy Victory

Kisa Hughes had 23 points and 10 rebounds and freshman point guard Erica Gomez handed out a school-record tying 15 assists as UCLA (3-1) downed Long Beach State, 89-65, Wednesday night before a crowd of 350 at Pauley Pavilion.
Long Beach State (2-2) was led by Akia Hardy’s 20 points.
Gomez tied the UCLA assist mark held by Ann Meyers and Kristi Moore.
San Diego State 67, USC 66--Jurate Zukauskaite scored 20 points as the Aztecs (3-1) held off the Trojans (2-2) before a crowd of 1,251 at the Sports Arena.
Tina Thompson led the Trojans with 25 points.
