HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER ROUNDUP : Preis Strikes Twice and Chatsworth Wins, 4-3

Senior striker Michael Preis scored his second goal with four minutes to play Wednesday to give Chatsworth a 4-3 victory over Kennedy in a Northwest Valley Conference boys’ soccer match at Chatsworth.
Kennedy’s Adam Rofer tied the match, 3-3, in the 70th minute.
Scott Ko and Jaime Ledezna also scored for the Golden Cougars (4-1-1 overall, 1-1-1 in conference play), who led, 2-1, at halftime.
Mike Grofsky and Ryan Fagan had goals for the Chancellors (1-2, 1-2).
In other Northwest Valley Conference matches:
El Camino Real 2, San Fernando 0--Jon Terry scored twice in the second half for the Conquistadores (2-1) at El Camino Real.
Terry scored in the 50th minute and added his second score with five minutes to play.
Taft 1, Cleveland 1--Douglas Gonzalez scored in the 22nd minute for the Cavaliers (1-0-2, 1-0-2) before Cesar Pouzeaud answered in the 36th minute for the Toreadors (0-2-1).
Augustine Baldioli stopped 14 shots for Taft.
Birmingham 6, Granada Hills 2--Gabriel Ortega scored three goals and Gerardo Wence added two for the Braves (3-0, 3-0), who led, 4-0, at halftime of a match at Birmingham.
Peter Mastrocinque made one save for Birmingham before being ejected in the first half.
Palmdale 8, Barstow 0--Murad Dibbini scored three goals and Merrick Henry added two for Palmdale (1-0-2) in pool play at the Barstow tournament.
Harvard-Westlake 4, Salesian 1--Ari Friedman scored twice for the Wolverines (3-0-1) in a nonleague match at Harvard-Westlake.
Peter Richards and Mike Edelstein also scored for Harvard, which trailed at halftime, 1-0.
GIRLS
North Hollywood 6, SOCES 0--Kathleen Sullivan and Dara Zeehandelaar each scored two goals as the Huskies (3-0, 1-0) defeated SOCES (1-2, 0-1) in a City League C match at North Hollywood.
In other City League C matches:
Kennedy 2, Cleveland 0--Nikki Hagouel scored two goals as the Golden Cougars (1-2, 1-0) beat the Cavaliers (0-2, 0-1) at Kennedy.
Birmingham 2, Reseda 0--Gina Della-Galla and Kris Oakes scored as the Braves (3-0, 1-0) defeated the Regents (1-2, 0-1) at Reseda.
Liliana Cruz stopped nine shots for the Regents.
Valencia 2, Calabasas 1--Heather Zubis and Juliette Wong scored for the Vikings (3-0) in a nonleague match at Valencia.
Sandy Zimmer had nine saves for Valencia, which was outshot, 15-5.
