OXNARD : Library Offers to Waive Late Fees
- Share via
The Oxnard Public Library’s annual amnesty program enables forgetful book borrowers to avoid late fines and share seasonal goodwill at the same time.
Amnesty ’95 continues through Dec. 21 and allows people to avoid late fees if a canned food item accompanies each overdue book upon its return.
“The library really needs these books returned and our neighbors really need the food,” library spokeswoman Sandra Vose said. “Each book is precious and hard to replace because of cuts to our book budget.”
Canned food will be donated to a local food bank.
