Chanel Inc. and the Los Angeles Police Department said they seized more than 20,000 items of counterfeit merchandise on raids of 34 retail stores in the Los Angeles garment district. . . . A subsidiary of the Equitable Cos. finalized the previously announced sale of the 1,368-room Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles to Forward Time Inc., which is owned by Taiwanese investors. Terms were not disclosed, but brokers estimate the hotel fetched between $50 million and $60 million. . . . Fuji Photo Film Co. produced a new set of statistics that it said disprove the allegations of unfair market barriers in Japan lodged by American rival Eastman Kodak Co.
