Government Services

Why is it during the so-called “government shutdowns” most of us don’t notice anything different in our daily lives? Is it because if we need a passport, for an example, or any other government services, we must take time off of regular work for the convenience of our “public servants”? We not only pay their wages but must lose money in order to use them. The same is true of most of our state and local services.
Our retail facilities, which not only collect taxes but provide services, are open in the evenings and weekends, for profit, that’s true, but also for the convenience of their customers. Why not our so-called “public servants”?
