PREP ROUNDUP : Martini Paces Ocean View’s Victory

Jason Martini scored 22 points and had nine rebounds as Ocean View beat Riverside J.W. North, 68-63, in the first round of the Nike National Prep Classic at Rancho Bernardo High.
Teammate Erik Petersen scored 18 points and had six rebounds for the Seahawks (6-6). Ocean View plays Runnymede Collegiate of Toronto at 8:20 tonight at San Dieguito High.
In other tournament games:
Mission Viejo 80, San Diego St. Augustine 39--Donald Williams scored 12 points, leading Mission Viejo past St. Augustine in a first-round game.
Orlando Campbell added 11 points for the sixth-ranked Diablos (12-0). Anthony Hill scored 13 points for St. Augustine (2-9).
Capistrano Valley 69, San Diego Granite Hills 43--Brad Thornton scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Capistrano Valley. Dan Galvanoni and Randy Shepard each scored 11 points for the Cougars (6-6), who led by 20 at the half.
Mike Wilson scored 20 points for Granite Hills (4-7).
In the Brea tournament:
Rancho Alamitos 57, La Habra 49--Corey Brown scored 13 points to lead Rancho Alamitos in a first-round game. John Marshall scored 10 points for La Habra.
Brea Olinda 94, Orange Lutheran 36--Sean Wink scored 21 points and Reid Carlson scored 13 to lead Brea Olinda (8-1). The Wildcats play Rancho Alamitos in the quarterfinals Thursday.
In the Century tournament:
Century 61, Santiago 38--Hector Beltran scored 16 points and had eight assists to help Century advance (9-3) to the quarterfinals.
Chris Lopez added 12 points and 10 rebounds and freshman Hardy Fatu had 10 points.
Calvary Chapel 91, Anaheim 48--Nate Morton scored 28 points to lead Calvary Chapel (9-1) to the quarterfinals Thursday.
El Toro 73, Sunny Hills 50--Mark Wulfemeyer scored 18 points, including four three-pointers, and Travis Senik added 17 points for El Toro (10-3), which led by 21 at the half.
In the Coast Classic tournament:
Corona del Mar 72, Rialto 63--At Estancia, Adam Klinke scored 31 points and Brian Coleman had 23 for Corona del Mar (6-5), which led by seven at the half.
In the Katella Klassic:
Katella 57, Village Christian 46--Carlos Romero scored 18 points to lead tournament host Katella (10-2). The Knights play Savanna in the semifinals Thursday at 8.
Savanna 64, Torrance 52--Sam Balos scored 21 points and Roel Florentino had 15 to lead Savanna.
In the Nogales tournament:
San Clemente 57, Downey Warren 40--Jan Tatala scored 17 points, helping San Clemente (8-4) reach the second round. The Tritons outscored Warren, 18-6, in the fourth quarter to win going away. Eli Engle added 13 points and Semaj Johnson had 10 points and seven rebounds.
In the Canyon tournament:
Marina 83, Parkland (Canada) 27--Josh Heilman scored 15 points and Scott Rivera and Peter Yoon each scored 11 to lead Marina (5-7) in a first-round game.
In the Bell-Jeff girls’ basketball tournament:
Kennedy 50, Los Angeles Immaculate Heart 29--Noelani Westall scored 14 points to lead Kennedy (5-6), which outscored Immaculate Heart, 16-2, in the second quarter to take a 16-point halftime lead.
In the Magnolia boys’ soccer tournament:
Pacifica 5, Costa Mesa 0--Graig Chow scored four goals and had an assist on Trevor Stivers’ goal for Pacifica (4-2). Earlier in the day, Pacifica lost to La Mirada, 1-0.
In the Magnolia boys’ soccer tournament:
Century 5, La Mirada 3--Jose Magana scored his third and fourth goals of the day and Alex Alfaro added his third for Century (5-2), which also defeated Costa Mesa, 6-0, in an earlier game.
