Three Orange County groups have won grants from the Foundation of the State Bar of California.
The Santa Ana-based Public Law Center received $5,000 to translate an HIV/AIDS booklet into Vietnamese. The Orange County Bar Foundation in Irvine won $4,500 for its peer court case management program. And St. Anselm’s Cross Community Center in Garden Grove was awarded $1,500 to pursue civil rights for noncitizens.
The foundation, based in San Francisco, gives about $120,000 annually to charitable and educational programs for law-related activities.
Orange County “did pretty well this year. We were pleased,” said Scott Wylie, director of the Public Law Center.
