Brea Beats Magnolia to Stay Undefeated in League

Brea Olinda remained the only undefeated girls’ soccer team in the Orange League with a 4-1 victory over host Magnolia Monday.
Alli Mauzey, Jennifer Overholtzer, Aarin Zeif and Christine Sherwood scored for Brea Olinda (9-7-1, 5-0). Magnolia (8-8-1, 3-2) fell into third place.
In another Orange League game:
Valencia 8, Western 0--Rachel Ferrari and Alejandra Nunez each scored two goals for Valencia (10-4-2, 4-1), which took over second place in league.
In the Century League:
Canyon 1, Villa Park 0--Michelle Bannister scored in the 20th minute off an assist from Kristen Thompson for host Canyon (9-5-2, 4-1-1). Villa Park is 7-9-4, 2-2-2.
In the Empire League:
El Dorado 5, Century 1--Krista Kudron and Linsey Espley each scored a goal and had an assist for El Dorado (11-5-1, 4-0-1), ranked eighth in Division III. El Dorado remained tied for first with Cypress.
Cypress 2, Kennedy 1--Michelle Woiemberghe scored off a crossing pass from Amanda Brown to break a 1-1 tie for visiting Cypress (11-4-1, 4-0-1), with about 12 minutes left in the game.
In the Garden Grove League:
Pacifica 5, Rancho Alamitos 0--Melissa Bunim scored two goals for Pacifica (12-4, 8-0).
La Quinta 7, Los Amigos 0--Sarah Skinner scored four goals for La Quinta (9-8-1, 6-1), which remains in second place. Andrea Taylor added a goal and assist for La Quinta.
In the Olympic League:
Connelly 2, Whittier Christian 2--Kelly Alvarez and Stacey Scofield scored for Whittier Christian (7-5-2, 2-3-2).
In the Sea View League:
Irvine 5, El Toro 0--Jennifer Meyerson had two goals for host Irvine (10-4-6, 3-0-3), which scored four second-half goals.
Woodbridge 2, Newport Harbor 0--Malissa Thornhill and Holly Robison scored for Woodbridge (10-5-4, 3-2-1).
In the South Coast League:
Mater Dei 2, Dana Hills 1--Katie Ticehurst scored in the 70th minute when her shot hit the left post before bouncing into the goal, breaking a 1-1 tie for the visiting Monarchs (14-3-2, 5-0-1), ranked second in the county.
Bree Denison scored in the first minute to give Dana Hills (9-7-4, 2-3-1) a 1-0 lead. Trisha Steiner scored the tying goal midway through the first half for Mater Dei.
