A second-half goal by Chris Devine, assisted by Mike Murray, lifted Westlake High to a 1-0 victory over Camarillo on Wednesday in a Marmonte League boys’ soccer match at Westlake.
The Warriors (13-1-1, 8-1 in league play) stayed a half-game behind first-place Royal. Robert Ackah recorded his 11th shutout.
Royal 5, Newbury Park 1--Kendall Simmonds and Caleb Westbay each scored twice for the Highlanders (17-5-1, 9-1) in a Marmonte League match.
Cleveland 6, El Camino Real 4--Luis Castro scored his 15th, 16th and 17th goals for the Cavaliers (8-2-3, 4-2-3) in a Northwest Valley Conference match.
GIRLS
La Reina 12, Carpinteria 0--Tara Lyerly scored five goals and Jennifer Baltrazak and Aimee Thompson each added two for the Regents (11-3-2, 3-0-2) in a Tri-Valley League match.
St. Bonaventure 1, Oak Park 0--Kelly Dyer scored with two minutes left for St. Bonaventure (12-0-4, 4-0-1) in a Tri-Valley League match.
Chatsworth 10, El Camino Real 0--Beezy Preis scored three goals and Michelle George had two for Chatsworth (11-0-1, 5-0) in a League A match.
