Banning football Coach Joe Dominguez resigned after one season. Dominguez, who also coached the Pilots from 1988-91, led Banning to a 5-7 record in 1995. Among the candidates mentioned to replace him are former Pilot defensive coordinator Marty Blankenship, former assistant Ken Stumpf and, perhaps the most intriguing candidate, Chris Ferragamo, who coached the Pilots during their glory years in the 1970s and ‘80s before resigning in 1987. . . . The Banning boys’ soccer team is on a 46-game undefeated streak. . . . Glenn defeated Mayfair, 42-21, to win its seventh consecutive Suburban League wrestling title. . . . Long Beach Millikan routed Long Beach Poly, 56-9, to win its 21st Moore League wrestling title. . . . Hector Mendoza scored three goals for Narbonne in a 10-2 soccer victory over Dorsey. . . . South Torrance goalkeeper Heather Ackert has eight shutouts. . . . Mira Costa routed El Segundo in wrestling, 62-3, last Thursday. The Mustangs have not lost in more than two seasons.
