Monroe Loses Anderson, Who Transfers to Palmdale

Sophomore running back Jason Anderson of Monroe High has enrolled at Palmdale after his family moved to the Antelope Valley.
St. Bonaventure lineman Brandon Elliott has committed to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
The 6-4, 240-pounder made the All-Tri-Valley League and All-Ventura County teams.

The Ventura College men (24-2) and women (26-0) remain top-ranked in the state poll.
The Antelope Valley men (20-6) are 10th and the Valley women (20-9) are 18th.
Tennis
Lori Stern, 11, of Ojai, won the girls’ 12-and-under singles in the 45th annual Whittier Mid-Winter junior tournament Sunday.
Boxing
Beto Juarez, 10, of Oxnard, won the 50-pound national silver gloves title Sunday in Kansas City.
Joel Salas, 15, of Channel Islands, was second at 132 pounds.
