Dallas Mossman Vogeler, 64, director in legitimate theater for three decades who promoted native Hawaiian traditions. Among the critically acclaimed plays she directed on Los Angeles stages were “Tobacco Road” in 1979, “Awake and Sing!” in 1981 and “The Watering Place” in 1990. The one-time Honolulu May Day queen returned to her native state in 1990. Three years later she directed a memorable five-day, three-act, multiple-stage pageant reenacting the overthrow of Liliuokalani, the last queen of Hawaii. Vogeler was also active in the Royal Order of Kamehameha, the Kaahumanu Society and the Native Hawaiian Advisory Council. On Feb. 28 in Honolulu of leukemia.
