Thomas Robert Payne, a Thousand Oaks resident and compliance manager for Teledyne Corp., died Saturday at age 57.
Payne was born July 2, 1938, in San Diego. He attended St. Augustine High School in San Diego, where he also met his future wife, Pat Taylor.
Payne worked for General Dynamics and Northrop before starting work at Teledyne. For the next 30 years he worked his way up through the company. As a compliance manager, he conducted audits to ensure that the corporation’s different divisions complied with government regulations.
In addition to his wife, other survivors include son Thomas Payne of Palmdale, daughter Julie Bennett of Redmond, Ore., sister Cathy Heil of San Diego, and three grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Mortuary.
