More Charged in Auto Insurance Scheme: State and federal authorities announced that 10 more individuals have been charged in an alleged personal injury kickback scheme that defrauded insurers of millions of dollars. Among those charged in the investigation, dubbed “Med Law,” are three physicians, four chiropractors and three office administrators, U.S. Atty. Charles J. Stevens and state Insurance Commissioner Chuck Quackenbush said in a joint statement. The charges bring to 19 the number of defendants charged in the alleged scheme, which authorities said involves a statewide system of kickbacks and inflated billings for auto accident injuries.
