Defending Champion Chapman Heads to Michigan for Softball Regional
- Share via
Chapman, the defending NCAA Division III softball champion, is the top-seeded team in the Central Regional that starts Friday in Holland, Mich.
The top-ranked Panthers were moved from the West Regional in Iowa, presumably because the west has five teams ranked among the top 20 nationally.
Chapman (34-7) opens the double-elimination tournament with a game against fourth-seeded Illinois Wesleyan (26-19) at 1 p.m. Friday. Hope (28-6), the host team, and Calvin (Mich.) (20-15) are seeded second and third.
The winner advances to the NCAA Division III Championship tournament May 16-19 in Salem, Va.
