Holguin, from West Covina High, saved her best performance for last as she finished second in the heptathlon in the state meet Saturday at Cerritos College. She established personal bests in each event and 4,403 points, a Fullerton record. Her high jump of 5 feet 4 1/2, would have been good enough to win the individual high jump competition.

* Fullerton, freshman. She won four games and was selected as pitcher of the tournament as the Hornets finished second at the state tournament.
