Builder Kathryn Thompson to Receive UC Irvine Award

Home builder Kathryn G. Thompson, chief executive officer of Kathryn G. Thompson Co. in Laguna Niguel, will be the first woman to receive the prestigious 1996 Sumigarden Award presented by the UC Irvine School of Management to honor longtime achievement in the real estate industry.
Thompson has built more than 12,000 homes, apartments and condominiums in California.
She will be honored June 4 at a conference in Costa Mesa titled: “Real Estate’s New Reality: The Implications of Technology in the Evolving Workplace.”
The award was established eight years ago.
